Two (2) hours of education on Florida Occupational Therapy Laws and Rules is required for initial and continuing licensure of occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants each biennium for clinicians registered to practice in Florida. This course has been approved by the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy and fulfills this continuing education requirement. This year is unique since the updated Occupational Therapy Scope of Practice was signed into legislation, 2022. Through this course, clinicians will increase awareness and understanding of the newly updated laws and rules that govern occupational therapy practice in the state of Florida.

• Identify the regulatory bodies that govern practice, and their roles.
• Discover updates to the current OT Scope of Practice and review current law.
• Discuss the factors for safe delegation of OT tasks and interventions.
• Summarize the elements of the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics.
